• When Arriving at MCS



    Visitors to Mater Christi School will be limited by appointment only. Generally appointments and parent conferences will be done remotely using Zoom Pro to limit potential contamination and exposure to COVID-19 in the school facilities. During arrival and dismissal, Parish Center Entrance marked Door A will be made available for any in person questions by appointment only.  During the school day, anytime there is a need for a parent/guardian to pick up their child, they will call the office from the parking lot and their child will be escorted to them. Any individual seeking to  enter the building during the school day (Main School Entrance marked Door B) will call the school office from the parking lot. All visitors must have their temperature taken and fill out a screening questionnaire provided in the New York Forward Pre-K to Grade 12 School Guidelines for staff, contractors, vendors, and visitors.

    All faculty and staff must have their temperature taken and fill out a screening questionnaire provided in the New York Forward Pre-K to Grade 12 School Guidelines for staff, contractors, vendors, and visitors. The screening questionnaire must be submitted at the school office upon entrance to the school. Any faculty or staff member who has a temperature of 100°F or greater, has a positive response on the screening questionnaire or is exhibiting any signs/symptoms of COVID-19 will be sent home. All of these individuals will be referred to a healthcare provider and provided with resources on COVID-19 testing.

    All individuals entering the school building must be wearing proper PPE (masks). Masks will be provided to those who do not have one of their own. Parents/guardians, faculty, and staff members will be provided resources to educate them regarding the careful observation of symptoms of COVID-19 and health screening that must be conducted each morning before coming to school.  Information and resources will be provided to educate all on the symptoms and mandatory screening.

    A daily temperature check and the completion of the screening questionnaire for faculty and staff in the PreKindergarten must be submitted at the PreKindergarten Entrance upon arrival at the PreKindergarten Building. Any faculty or staff member who has a temperature of 100°F or greater, has a positive response on the screening questionnaire or is exhibiting any signs/symptoms of COVID-19 will be sent home. All of these individuals will be referred to a healthcare provider and provided with resources on COVID-19 testing.

    The student arrival process will include a daily temperature check. This process will allow for five designated entrances staffed by trained school personnel including an isolated area.  Refer to the sections below for more specific information.
