Preschool

The Early Childhood Program is designed to provide diverse experiences that foster, promote, and develop readiness concepts and skills within a nurturing environment. It offers many opportunities that enrich the children’s experience by stimulating their natural curiosity. The individual needs, interests, and abilities of each child in the class are met by adapting a developmentally appropriate curriculum and actively engaging students in the learning process. We collaborate with parents in nurturing faith and values in the children. Stories, songs and prayers, as well as service projects, focus on God’s love for us and His presence in all that we do.

Goals

  • Provide experiences that meet children’s needs for their physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development.

  • Develop confidence through positive learning experiences.

  • Develop social skills through play and interaction with peers and adults.

4 Year Old Full Day & 1/2 Day

At Mater Christi our Pre-Kindergarten classroom is a faith based learning environment that is focused on educating  the whole child. We begin each day with a prayer about kindness, gratitude, and our health. In our class we learn how to cherish all of God’s creations inside and outside our classroom. One of the main goals of the 4 year old program is to prepare the children for being life-long learners. To have a passion for learning, creating, and loving one another. The 4-year-old programs may include classes with our special area teachers for physical education, music, library, and art. 4-year-old preschoolers are eligible for the Extended Day Program.
