Dr. Claire McCambridge

Middle School Science

I love science, I love to teach, and I love to teach science. I teach Science to Grades 5 - 8, with Regents Biology. I also teach Health to the middle school, and I am also the 5th Grade Homeroom teacher. In addition to teaching, I also supervise the MCS pollinator garden, the Future City’s Competition, and the STEAM club. I was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland, before coming to the United States in 2013, after I married my husband, first living in Boston, then settling in the Capital Region. My first experience of Albany was in 1995, when I attended The College of St Rose for 1 year, on an academic scholarship. I have a Phd in Biology, and a BSc in Zoology from Queen’s University Belfast, in Northern Ireland. My passion is animal behavior, I yearn to know why animals do the things they do!! Before beginning at Mater Christi, I was the middle school Science and STEAM teacher at Blessed Sacrament School in Albany.
