James Iavarone

Eighth Grade - Religion: Grades 5-8

Mr. Iavarone attended Niagara University (operated by the Vincentian priests and brothers) from 1980-1984. Mr. I’s first teaching position was in Glens Falls, NY at St. Mary's Academy, renamed to St. Mary/St. Alphonsus Academy. Mr. I taught Business Education for students in grades 9-12. From 1988-1991 Mr. I was in the major seminary in Baltimore, MD at St. Mary's Seminary and University; the oldest Catholic seminary in the United States founded in the late 1700's. He then came to Albany and began work at LaSalle Institute in Troy, NY working with the Brothers of the Christian Schools (The Christian Brothers). Mr. I taught boys in 9-12 grades for a period of 23 years. In 2019 Mr. I came to Mater Christi School and this is his 5th year at MCS. Mr. I also was a pastoral associate for Faith Formation programs at St. Mary's Church in Troy, NY (closed in NY) and at St. Bonaventure Parish, now known as Transfiguration parish in Speigletown, NY.
