Fifth Grade - English Language Arts: Grades 5-8

One day, long, long ago, when I was in the fourth grade, my teacher, Sr. Mary Kevin, told the class that we should start praying to discover our vocation—no matter what it was!  Then, a few of my other teachers mentioned to me that I was very good at explaining lessons to the other students, and a teacher was born!

SUNY New Paltz was my first stop.  I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts with a concentration in English Literature, and two minors, Studio Art and Art History.  Then I moved to Pasadena, Texas, where I taught in St. Pius the Fifth Roman Catholic School for ten years.

I missed my family very much, and when the opportunity came about I moved home to New York State.  Then I worked for St. Peter's Hospital while attending Union Graduate School, now known as Clarkson University.  I earned a Masters of Art in Teaching, and took summer classes to receive a Fifth and Sixth Grade extension.  Now I am here at Mater Christi School in Albany, and could not be happier!  The students here are respectful, intelligent, and a joy to teach!  The community in this school could not be better! I am also very proud to be one of the four teachers working with the Drama Club.
